Made by Joseph Dransfield, wine and spirit merchant and brick maker of Voelas Road, Lyttelton during the 1860s. While most of his bricks were used in Lyttelton, some came to Christchurch. |

Made by Henry B Kirk who worked at Lyttelton as a brick maker before joining in partnership with John and William Austin (Austin & Kirk) and then in 1890 started at the Farnely works after the partnership dissolved. Little River Hotel was made with Kirk bricks. |

The Murphy Brothers took over the Farneley works at Huntsbury from Henry Kirk. It became the Murphy Bros works. |

Early orange clay brick with indented P mark - the makers mark for Prisk from the brick and quarry company of Prisk, Savage & Co which had a business premises on Hills Road, Christchurch circa 1900. |
While this brick is damaged it is very rare as Prisk managed the quarry side of the business while Savage did the bricks. The brick shows evidence of the mould on the sides and the missing corner shows the rough interior including air holes which remained after firing. It was made with clay quarried from the foot of the port hills. |
