| Technique: Transfer-print | Archaeological Notes: Like Willow, Broseley is a pattern that was copied from Chinese porcelain, which was produced by a number of manufacturers (Coysh and Henrywood 1984:62). The Broseley pattern is said to have been designed in 1782 as the teaware counterpart to the blue Willow dinnerware pattern, and as such, Broseley was almost exclusively limited to teaware forms (Miller 1991:9; Sussman 1978:100; see Brassey 1989: Fig. 9a). |
