| Technique: Transfer-print | Archaeological Notes: Coysh and Henrywood (1984:237) list ?Marine? as a design attributable to George Philips that was rendered on ironstone dinnerwares. Although no pattern or manufacturing marks were present on the examples recovered at His Majesty?s, the example of this pattern from Chancery Street carries both the pattern title and the maker?s name ?Philips?. (see Macready and Goodwyn 1990: 34, Fig. 6 C24). |
